Second call for papers for the PSSA Conference, January 2015
This is the second call for papers for the annual conference of the Philosophical
Society of Southern Africa. The conference will be hosted by the Department of
Media, Journalism and Philosophy at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University
(South Africa) in Port Elizabeth. The date of the conference is Monday 12 –
Wednesday 14 January 2015. The conference has no theme, and papers in all areas
of philosophy are welcome. Abstracts of no more than 200 words should reach the
conference organiser by 31 October 2014.

Members of the PSSA and Philosophy departments in South Africa are kindly asked
to distribute this notification about the conference to anyone who may be interested in
attending or presenting.

The venue for the Conference is the Athenaeum, 7 Belmont Terrace, Central, Port
Elizabeth, South Africa (

Please note that all accommodation arrangements are to be made by delegates
themselves. A bus will be arranged between a pick up point opposite theHumewood
Hotel ( and the Athenaeum. If you require transport
to and from the conference venue, you should find accommodation at this hotel or in
one of the other hotels within easy walking distance. Informal evening gatherings will
be arranged at beachfront venues within walking distance from these hotels. Please
secure accommodation early, since the conference takes place in holiday season.
Transport to and from the airport in Port Elizabeth should be arranged by the
delegates themselves.

Confirmation of papers accepted for the conference will take place by 15 November

for possible inclusion in a special number of the South African Journal of Philosophy.
